It was end of the road for two men in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, who broke into a mortuary and stole a female corpse and were nabbed by the police following investigations.
The two men, 28-year-old Chukwudi Chukwu and Bethel Ibeh, both from Ikeduru Local Government Area, were paraded yesterday at Imo State Police Command, alongside 29 other suspects, reports Vanguard.
They allegedly stole a female corpse from Jesus Hospital Mortuary in Ikeduru and demanded N5 Million from the manager of the mortuary, Prince Charles Nwanshi.
Nwanshi reported the matter to the police following which the suspects were arrested.
According to Nwanshi, “they broke into my mortuary and collected the corpse. One of them is my former staff. They asked me to give them N5 million, but I reported the matter to the Police. “Today (yesterday), the Police arrested them and they took us to the forest where they buried the body and we exhumed it.”
