Female Politician Mocked For Claiming She Cured Breast Cancer By Drinking Cow Urine

A Indian woman contesting election in that country on the platform of the ruling BJP has been mocked by opposition party for claiming she cured breast cancer by drinking cow urine.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi mocked the BJP on Thursday over Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s claim that she cured her breast cancer with cow products like urine. He is the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, a political party in India.

Owaisi pointed to a newspaper report that said oncologists in Mumbai had refuted Sadhvi Pragya’s claim.

“Looks like BJP has found its candidate for Ministry of Health, with additional charge of Science & Technology!” Asadduddin Owaisi wrote on Twitter. “Unfortunately, soon-to-be former Prime Minister Modi won’t be getting a chance to see it through,” he said.

Sadhvi Pragya recently told India Today TV that she cured her cancer “by consuming gau mutr [cow urine] and panchgavya mixed ayurvedic herbs”.

Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur is the BJP’s candidate in Bhopal, where she has been fielded against veteran Congressman Digvijaya Singh. She is an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case — in which six people died and around 100 were injured — but the BJP says she was framed.

She is currently out on bail. Her candidature has been challenged in court by the father of one of the men killed in the blast.

A BJP bastion since 1989, Bhopal will vote on May 12. Sadhvi Pragya filed her nomination this week.

Sitting BJP MP Alok Sanjar has also filed his nomination. His candidature is being seen as a precautionary measure by the BJP in case Sadhvi Pragya is prevented from contesting the election.
