What is supposed to have had a romantic ending turned out a public embarrassment for a young man in Benin, Nigeria after his lover gave him a slap in public. What really happened?

The guy and his girlfriend had an arranged proposal in a public place to show off their ‘Romeo and Juliet’ kind of love. But the guy couldn’t find the ring when he was supposed to propose to the girl. This got the girl embarrassed and angry. She released slap on the guys face and walked out.
