Man’s Outrageous Halloween Decorations Prompts Police Visits (Photos, Video)

This could be described as a Halloween joke taken too far. This man’s Halloween decorations were so realistic and too gory that people had to call the police on him.

The man whose Halloween decorations had prompted numerous police call-outs in the past is back up to his usual tricks.

For many, the spooky celebration is not much more than an opportunity to dress up, be it as something spooky – such as a zombie or a ghost – or just a character from a hit TV show, or a sexy bunny.

But Steven Novak is not one of these people; he goes all out at Halloween.

On numerous occasions last year, police were called to his home in Dallas, Texas, USA, which he had transformed into a horrific massacre site.

The ‘decorations’ included a wheelbarrow full of limbs, several corpses, and absolutely loads of splattered blood.

And this year, unperturbed by the visits of local officers, he’s at it again.

steven novak’s home front lawn halloween display

His front garden features a corpse impaled on a spike, another whose head has been crushed by a safe, and a wood chipper filled with limbs that shoots blood through the air and across the lawn (not actual corpses/limbs/blood, in case that wasn’t clear).

This is the pièce de résistance for engineer and artist Steven.

Speaking to the Dallas Observer, he said: “There are lots of new gimmicks to this year’s caper.

“The wood chipper blood fountain being the clear centrepiece and easily the most challenging prop.

“It took me months to find an old wood chipper for sale. The sellers were not pleased with its new purpose.”

He continued: “There are lots of new details; 55-gallon drums are now out by the curb filled up with the shredded party [of guests].

“And I made the body parts this year by cutting up mannequins then filling them with skeleton parts and Great Stuff insulation foam.”

He’s also mocked up a faux front door designed to make it look as though the property has been broken into by an axe-wielding murderer.

He explained: “I bought a door, matched the house paint, smashed it, and mounted it to swing out on hinges.

“The real door to my house behind it, I then painted with a product called Black 3.0 that reflects very little light so it almost looks invisible.”

Evidently, it takes a lot of time, effort and money to create these displays, but they are so popular in the area – even among police – that he keeps pushing it further each year.
