A Raccoon dog that tried to pilfer a snack from a vending machine in a Florida High school ended up stuck in the machine.
According to law enforcement in Deltona, FL (and the, um, adorable photo evidence), a raccoon got stuck in a vending machinewhile trying to steal snacks. But you know, can’t blame a guy for trying.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s department posted a snap of the culprit to Facebook on Wednesday, writing, “This gentleman was apprehended today while committing a burglary of a vending machine at Pine Ridge High School.” And while, yes, stealing is wrong, look at the poor guy! He’s sorry! Don’t cuff him!
Naturally, the internet is having a field day with the incident. “If I were him I’d snatch as many of those Rice Crispy bars as his little paws could carry and leave those granola bars in the dust!!” a user wrote. “Nothing going on here. Nothing to see. Just move along please,” someone else added. Another raised a pretty fair question: “How could they identify him wearing a mask?”
For those worried about the snack bandit’s safety, don’t. He’s good. According to the original post, Deputy Danny Clifton called in Deltona Animal Control to help free him. “They put this vending machine on a dolly and wheeled it out to an area where our friend could make his exit to freedom,” the caption continued. “He did so with a little encouragement, and he’s off to his next adventure.”
