Man, 4-month-old son shot dead in front of their porch North Carolina home

Tragedy struck in North Carolina after a man and his  4-month-old baby were shot dead at their home.

Police says officers responded to a home in Monroe, North Carolina, just after 10 p.m. Sunday, May 29.

Police found 25-year-old Darion McClendon and 4-month-old Da’mari McClendon dead at the scene. Family confirmed they are father and son, reports Charlotte Observer.

The house was riddled with bullet holes which were also seen in some of the cars that were parked outside the home.

Investigators are still working to learn what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.

Officers said a 9-year-old and an 11-year-old were also inside the home when the shooting started.

Monroe Police Chief Bryan Gilliard urged anyone with information to come forward.

“This is a very difficult time for our community and our officers in the face of this senseless act of violence. We are committed to bringing the perpetrator of this crime to justice,” Gilliard said.

Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
