Police Rescue Man Being Chased By Baby Squirrel

Police officers in Germany have responded to an unusual distress call by a man on August 9, only to get to the scene to realize that the man was scared because he was being chased by a baby squirrel.

The officers in the south-western city of Karlsruhe received the call from a man who had claimed he was being chased down the street by the tiny animal. Police said the man called them in desperation after he was unable to shake off the small rodent.The police then sent a patrol car out to investigate the incident.
Guess what suddenly happens when the police got to the scene.
The drama ended suddenly when the squirrel, apparently exhausted by its exertions, lay down abruptly and fell asleep.

The squirrel was then taken into custody.
The officers said the baby squirrel had probably been separated from its mother. In such a case, the baby squirrel would target all its energy in finding a new home, in this case the man.
“It often happens that squirrels, which have lost their mothers, look for a replacement and then focus their efforts on one person,” The Guardian reported Christina Krenz, a police spokeswoman as saying.

She said the animals could be “very persistent, not just running behind someone, but entirely fixated on them. It can be pretty scary. The man didn’t know what to do and so he called the police. He was certainly feeling a bit threatened”.
The policemen have grown attached to the little animal and have also decided that the squirrel will be the departments new mascot. The officers have also though of a name for their little buddy.
It will henceforth be called – Karl-Friedrich.
The squirrel was taken to an animal rescue center where it was said to be doing well.
